After earning his Doctor of Medicine from Drexel University College of Medicine in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Dr. Barnajian completed his general surgery residency at the prestigious Cedars Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles. Dr. Barnajian went through additional training at Stony Brook University Hospital in New York to become a board-certified Colorectal Surgeon.

One of Dr. Barnajian’s specialties is a minimally invasive surgery, such as laparoscopy or da Vinci® robotic surgery. Dr. Barnajian’s specialized training has provided him with the advanced expertise in all aspects of colon, rectal, and anal surgery from laparoscopic and robotic colon resection for colorectal cancer and inflammatory bowel disease to complex anorectal disease including pilonidal disease, hemorrhoids, fissures, fistula and HIV related anorectal disorders.

Dr. Barnajian has lectured at both national and international meetings and has published multiple peer-reviewed articles in prestigious journals including Colorectal Disease. Alongside Dr. Nasseri he has also co-authored several papers on pilonidal cyst treatments based on their research. Dr. Barnajian is also a medical peer reviewer for multiple prestigious colorectal journals, including Colorectal Disease and Techniques in Coloproctology. He is involved in a number of multi-center prospective studies, including ColoCare and CleanCision.
