Can surf training resume after the flap procedure?
Yes, and permanently. Most surfers are paddling again in three to four weeks, and because the repair sits off the midline it tolerates boards and wetsuits without the old irritation.
How many times will I really need to make the drive?
Typically twice: once for the consultation and once for surgery. Everything else, from records review to healing checks, is handled remotely by design.
Is a flaring cyst safe to sit on for the PCH commute?
An actively draining flare should be seen promptly rather than endured. Call us; urgent cases are prioritized, and sitting pain is usually the disease telling you the tract has re-pressurized.
My Pepperdine student flares during finals. What is the smart timing?
Semester breaks are ideal. The outpatient procedure plus early recovery fits comfortably inside them, and photo follow-up continues after classes restart.
Does saltwater exposure affect healing?
Only during the first weeks. Once the closure is fully sealed, around week three or four, ocean swimming is fine and carries no special recurrence risk with this technique.
